As a product manager, the development of Spaceet was a thrilling process that combined innovation, user-centered design, and technology to transform Nigeria's short-let business.

Spaceet's early adoption soared, with over 1,000 listings in just the first few months. By continuously improving user experience through customer feedback, we positioned Spaceet as a leader in Nigeria's short-let market.

Vision & Ideation

Spaceet was born out of a clear need in Nigeria's short-let business—a fragmented market with trust issues and inefficient processes. As the product manager, I identified opportunities to create a seamless platform that connects property owners with renters effortlessly.

Challenges

Key challenges included onboarding hosts efficiently and ensuring customer trust. We addressed this through a three-step host registration process and verified host badges for credibility.

Key Achievement

With iterative development, we introduced secure payments, real-time bookings, and a dashboard for hosts to manage listings easily. Spaceet's early adoption soared with over 1,000 listings in the first few months.

Development Process

Market Research and Validation

We began by analyzing the short-let market in Nigeria to identify gaps, particularly the challenges faced by property owners and customers. Common pain points included inefficient booking systems and lack of trust. Based on this, I defined our target audience and refined our product strategy, focusing on ease of use, transparency, and security.

Core Product Functionality

I designed Spaceet to make onboarding hosts simple and intuitive. With just three steps, hosts could list their properties and start earning income. We implemented a feature-rich dashboard that allowed hosts to manage bookings, receive payments, and access analytics in real-time. For customers, the focus was on providing a seamless search and booking experience with advanced filters and verified host badges.

The customer views detailed information about the selected apartment, which includes apartment name, price per night, and available accessories (e.g., Wifi, pool, gym).
